Chrissi Island - South of Crete

Beginnen Sie Ihre Bootsrundfahrt am Hafen Ierapetra und nehmen Sie Kurs auf die exotische Insel Chrysi. Segeln Sie durchs smaragdgrüne Wasser des Libyschen Meeres, inmitten von Möwenschwärmen und Delfinen. Die Bar mit Selbstbedienung an Bord ist geöffnet während der gesamten Fahrt und lädt Sie ein zu leichten Speisen, Salaten, Wein, Softdrinks, Kaffee, Eiscreme und weiteren Leckereien. Werfen Sie Anker an der Südseite der Insel und machen Sie eine Pause, um zu schwimmen und zu entspannen. Wenn Sie möchten, spazieren Sie durch den Zedernwald zum exotischen Strand Belegrina oder Chrissi Ammos mit abertausenden Muscheln.
Die Insel Chrysi wurde aufgenommen in die europäische Initiative NATURA 2000, berühmt für ihr paradiesisches Meer in allen erdenklichen Blau- und Grüntönen, die goldenen Strände und die geschützten Wälder mit über 200 Jahre alten Zedern. Der Wald erstreckt sich bis ins Zentrum von Chrysi und umfasst ein Gebiet von 350.000 Quadratmetern. Die Farben der Felsen sind spektakulär und fast die gesamte Insel ist bedeckt mit goldenem Sand.
Laufen Sie in westliche Richtung von Belegrina und sehen Sie den nächsten Strand, Hatzivolakas. Erkunden Sie einen ruhigeren Abschnitt mit felsiger Landschaft. Im Westen von Hatzivolakas treffen Sie auf die Spuren einer minoischen Siedlung, die erfolgreich Purpurtang handelten, das rote Pigment zum Färben von königlicher Kleidung. Hier befindet sich die Kapelle von Agios Nikolaos und der Leuchtturm der Insel. Nordöstlich der Kirche erwartet Sie ein Salzsumpf und das einzige Haus der Insel, errichtet auf altem Schrott.

- from there, we can make a turn to Kouses and stop at Jannis "Botano" shop, where we can find excellent teas, herbs, dried fruits.
- visit also the village 70200 Vori, which is maybe the most authentic village in the Messara valley.

Not to be missed:
- Kommos Beach: with fine golden sand and framed by natural dunes, this nudist beach is situated at the western part after Kalamaki. It stretches over 2 km along the south coast west of Matala and is up to 40 m wide.
- Kalamaki Beach: nice sandy beach with free umbrellas & sunbeds in Kalamaki 70200, Greece
- Preveli Crete Beach and Palm Lagoon where the Kourtaliotis River meets the sea with palm groves: located @ 5F3F+2G Preveli, 74060-Foinikas, GR
- Vai Palmgrove at the north-eastern edge of the island {2 hours drive from our apartment}

Check out these tavernas:- "Red Castle" offers a variety of fresh sea food (ask for the daily fresh fish), stews and other dishes until 23:00.
- "Taverna Akrogiali" which means "seashore" & is located next to the beach. The owner Nikos speaks English and fluent German {but closed for renovation}.
- "Akti Fish Taverna" located directly at the beach of Kokkinos Pirgos / Katalyki.
